Ok, I got the Wii Fit yesterday (May 21, 2008) and got it set up in the evening.  I immediately set about exploring it and playing the games and doing the work out bits.  There are four areas of exersize: Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance.   Only the Balance training seems more “game” geared as the rest deal with mainstream training regimens.

So far:

  • Wii Fit age:  59  :-(
  • BMI: (I’ll get back to you on this)

I did the yoga breathing excersize a couple times, as well as the Half moon a couple times.  I also tried the step dancing and hula hoop in the Aerobics category.  Those are HARD and require a lot of coordination and rhythm, two traits that I am not blessed with in spades.  I also did most of the balance games: downhill ski slalom, ski jumping and the balance board.  These are also hard but I’m sure I’ll get better at them as I go.  They are fun, that’s for sure.

My impression from 1 night is that this was a great purchase and I know that I’ll have fun and even get some fitness going which is the point.  I give it 5 stars, a thumbs up, A+, or whatever floats your boat for a positive rating.
