When Gwen Bell announced the Best of Blog Challenge 2009, I read thru the list of topics. I knew this was a topic that I didn’t think I had much to blog about. Yes, I’ve done a LOT of things this year from discovering that I LOVE kayaking to learning that I can make friends on my own without the benefit of school or work as the “catalyst” that brings people together. I’ve also done a lot of reading about personal development and living habits and realized that the minimal life is quite appealing to me. But, what about a “rush”? When did I feel like Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic standing at the very bow of the ship and leaning into the wind yelling, “I’m the king of the world!”??? Was there any moment during 2009 that qualified to be my best rush???
There are certainly several contenders for my best rush of 2009: Barack Obama being inaugurated and knowing my daughter was on the Mall in the freezing cold and getting to be a witness to history, being called up in front of a roomful of strangers as a volunteer during the Networking in Nashvegas session of BarCamp Nashville 2009 and even my previously related rope swing adventure during a kayaking trip with friends. Yes, these were probably the things where I felt the biggest “rush” of the year. These were my, “I’m the king of the world!” moments.
With the things I have going on and moving forward, I look forward to having several more “best rush” moments to report in the Best of Blog Challenge 2010.
Stay tuned.
